Albany Booster Club Scholarships
The Albany Booster Club is pleased to be able to offer a variety of scholarships to graduating students to honor their achievements and support their post high school goals. These awards, as outlined below are funded either through an endowed gift or through proceeds generated throughout the academic year. All recipients must be in good standing academically, athletically and behaviorally. Award recipients are selected as described and are honored at the annual awards night or the athletic awards night.
Hanlon McDonald Scholarship - In Honor of Hanlon McDonald, AHS Class of 2011 - for a student who plans to attend College after High School. $500 Endowed Scholarships presented to 2 students at the annual Awards Night. Selected by The Albany High Administration of the School District of Albany, NY (add criteria details when available)
The Albany Booster Club Service Award - $500 to two graduating students with the highest number of service hours recorded in School Links as identified by the School District of Albany, NY, Principal of Citizenship Academy. Presented at the annual Awards Night.
Male and Female Outstanding Athlete of the Year - $500 to the students selected by the School District of Albany, NY, Athletic Department as male and female outstanding athlete of the year. Presented at the Athletic Awards Ceremony.
Champions of Character Award - $500 to the 2 graduating seniors who have demonstrated the highest levels of teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance and dedication to Albany Athletics. Students must have participated in high school level athletics (Freshmen, JV, V) for 4 years and served as a team captain. Selected by the School District of Albany, NY, coaching staff with the endorsement of the athletic departments. Presented at the Athletic Awards Night.
Student Athlete Booster Club Service Awards - $500 to up to 2 graduating seniors who have demonstrated sustained service to the Albany Booster Club through concession stand volunteering, service on the board, and overall commitment to the mission of the club. Selected by The Albany Booster Club, Albany NY and presented at the Athletic Awards Night.
